Social Justice:

A concept affirming the notion that everyone deserves equal ecconomics, political, and social rights and opportunities regardless of background or aquired priveledge.

JUSTICE

That Justice is a blind goddess
Is a thing to which we black are wise:
Her bandage hides two festering sores
That once perhaps were eyes.

    -Lansgton Hughes

"True peace can rarely be imposed from the outside; it must be born within and between communities through meetings and dialogue and then carried outward."

The study of Ethnic literature can be an eye opening experience for readers. The focus of this website is on anaylzing three stories, written by three different ethnic American authors, all of who have very similar themes and aspects that point out the lack of social justices in America.  These writers use literature, "American Horse," "The Free Vacation House," and "The Hammon and the Beans," to express oppression, assimilation, and how it affects their American dream.
